$1800 is too much for an '86, even one in good shape. Start thinking about half that. Remember, that bike sold new for about $2400.
$3000 isn't too bad for a '96, especially in Granola Land, but be prepared to come down a little. It's a four year old used bike that sold new for about $4000, no matter how many miles it has.
